Kris Ziegler, Founder and CEO
Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kris’ enthusiasm for aviation began at a young age motivating him to become a multi-engine, commercial/instrument pilot with instructor ratings by the time he was 21 years old. Throughout his career he has accrued two thousand hours of flight time in turbine and piston aircraft.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Business Administration and Aviation, Kris started working in the technology industry while building time as a professional flight instructor. In 1990 he joined a major aircraft manufacturer as a Regional Sales Director based in the New York City area.
That opportunity was the start of a multi-year real-world education that exposed him to a wide range of clientele from small business owners to major Fortune 500 flight departments. The experience of working for two of the best manufacturers in business aviation while receiving their in-house professional training as well as flight training through Flight Safety International; has allowed Kris to develop a broad set of skills that helps him objectively advise clients on many aspects of business aviation today.
In the early 2000s, Kris started working for one of the top fractional providers in the U.S. Since 2006 Kris has evolved into an independent consultant helping clients purchase and sell pre-owned aircraft both in the U.S. and Europe. He is also an expert at importing and exporting aircraft into or out of the U.S.
Being an aviator and sales professional for new aircraft, pre-owned aircraft and fractional shares, uniquely qualifies Kris to understand the benefits of all aviation solutions based on the needs of the client. 24 years has allowed him to develop relationships with some of the best business aviation specialists in the world. These relationships allow him to form a team of technical specialists and management experts, on the client’s behalf, to reduce risk and ensure complete satisfaction when the transaction is complete.
In launching Avalon Aviation, Kris has combined all of his unique experiences and industry expertise into a fee-based, consultative model that allows him to provide personalized, custom insight and solutions for clients seeking private jet or business aviation related services.
